FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can you machine polish in bad weather?
Machine polishing can only be carried out in dry weather.
Rain, excessive moisture or airborne contamination can compromise both the polishing process and the application of the protective sealant. If conditions are unsuitable, we'll discuss rescheduling your appointment.
How long does the polish last?
The polishing itself permanently improves the paintwork by removing or reducing defects.
However, the finish can deteriorate over time if the vehicle is washed incorrectly. Safe washing techniques and regular maintenance help preserve the results for much longer.
Does this service include protection?
Yes. After polishing, we apply a ceramic paint sealant to enhance gloss and provide 6+ months of hydrophobic protection, helping to keep the paint cleaner and easier to maintain.
Will it remove scratches?
Light surface scratches and wash marks can often be significantly reduced or removed.
However, scratches that have penetrated deeper into the clear coat cannot always be safely removed. During your appointment, we'll assess the paintwork and achieve the best possible improvement while preserving the clear coat.
Is this the same as a multi-stage paint correction?
No. A single-stage machine polish focuses on improving the overall finish in a single polishing stage.
Multi-stage correction involves several cutting and refining stages to remove a greater percentage of defects. It requires considerably more time and is typically carried out in a controlled indoor environment.
How much paint correction can I expect?
A single-stage machine polish typically removes around 50–70% of light paint defects, depending on the condition and hardness of the paint.
While deeper scratches and heavier defects may remain visible, the improvement in gloss, clarity and overall appearance is often dramatic.
Who is the Single-Stage Machine Polish for?
The Single-Stage Machine Polish is ideal for vehicles with light to moderate swirl marks, dull paintwork and minor surface imperfections. It's designed for owners who want noticeably improved gloss and clarity without the time and cost of a multi-stage paint correction.
