Frequently Asked Questions
What areas do you cover?
We cover most of North, West and Central London — including Barnet, Brent, Camden, Ealing, Enfield, Hammersmith & Fulham, Haringey, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Islington, Kensington & Chelsea, Lambeth, Waltham Forest, Wandsworth and Westminster — as well as nearby areas such as Hertsmere, Three Rivers, Watford and surrounding towns.
How do I book an appointment?
Bookings are made through our online booking page. If you need help, contact us on 07554 337832 or admin@velourdetailing.co.uk.
What space or parking requirements do you need?
We need to park our van within 5 metres of your vehicle with reasonable space to work around it. You are responsible for ensuring suitable space so the service can be performed safely.
Do I need to be present during the service?
Not necessarily — we only need access to your keys so we can move the vehicle if required.
Do I need to provide water or electricity?
No — our van is fully equipped with water, power supply and professional detailing products.
What types of vehicles do you work on?
We mainly detail cars and vans, but we can work on most vehicle types — just ask.
Are your products safe for the environment?
Yes — we use biodegradable products such as Bilt Hamber Touch-Less which are safer for the environment and your vehicle.
What happens in bad weather?
Most services can continue in normal weather conditions. The only exception is our Showroom Treatment, as machine polishing requires dry conditions.
How long does a detailing service take?
It depends on the service. Our shortest service takes around 1 hour, while our longest can take a full day. Each service page shows an estimated duration.
What is your cancellation policy?
You can cancel or reschedule anytime if you provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations are refunded in full minus a 5% admin fee. Bookings are non-refundable within 24 hours of the appointment.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes — bookings must be paid for in advance. This protects our business from no-shows and fraudulent bookings.
What payment methods do you accept?
We only accept online card payments.
Can I customise a service?
Yes — contact us if you need something specific. Our packages are simplified to make choosing easier, but we can tailor services to your requirements.
Do you work on leased vehicles (end-of-lease prep)?
Yes — we regularly prepare leased vehicles for return. We can improve interior and exterior presentation, but we cannot repair dents or deep scratches in the bodywork.
Do you offer commercial or fleet services?
Absolutely — get in touch to discuss fleet or commercial requirements.
Can you remove pet hair, stains or odours?
Yes — these are available as add-ons for lower-tier packages and included in higher-tier services.
Can you clean heavily soiled vehicles?
Yes — we’ve worked on everything from construction vans to off-road vehicles. Just let us know what we’re dealing with.
Can you work on vehicles with wraps, PPF, ceramic coatings or matte paint?
Yes — but these surfaces already have protective layers and may require different care. Standard polishing, clay-barring or sealants may not be suitable, so we always assess first.
Do you work on electric and hybrid vehicles?
Yes — detailing is perfectly safe for EVs and hybrids.
Do you have insurance?
Yes — we hold public liability insurance up to £1 million.
Can you clean my vehicle at work or in public spaces?
Yes — as long as we are legally permitted to be there by the property owner or local authority.
How often should I have my vehicle detailed?
It depends on your goals: Regular upkeep: every 4–8 weeks (Executive or Prestige), Enhanced protection: every 6–12 months (Showroom Treatment). Usage, mileage and storage also matter.
Will detailing help if I’m selling my car?
Definitely — professionally detailed vehicles sell faster and for more money. Various marketplace studies show buyers pay 10–15% more for well-presented cars.
